Sacramento Kings Announcer Scott Moak to Emcee Innovation Awards on November 7, 2017
We are pleased to announce that Sacramento Kings basketball public address announcer Scott Moak will serve as master of ceremonies for the 2017 Sacramento Region Innovation Awards, scheduled for Tuesday, November 7, 2017, at the Hilton Sacramento Arden West. Moak’s participation is a symbolic nod to Golden 1 Center, winner of the program’s inaugural “Innovation of the Year” award, spotlighting the now one-year-old home of the Kings and the world’s most sustainable and technologically advanced sports arena.
Moak’s recognizable microphone stylings will be punctuated by keynote speaker Gary S. May, the new Chancellor of UC Davis. Chancellor May will accept the second annual “Innovation of the Year” award on behalf of the university, recognized for its role as champion of regional innovation and entrepreneurship.
“It’s an honor to accept the Innovation of the Year award on behalf of UC Davis,” Chancellor May said. “We thank Sacramento area leaders for recognizing how a top public research university like ours contributes to a thriving region. We look forward to enhancing our ties with the region’s business and technology communities.”
A graduate of UC Davis, Moak serves as Vice President of Community Impact and Executive Director of the Kings Foundation, in addition to his game-day “Voice of the Kings” responsibilities.
Sixteen finalists were named last month and winners across six industry categories will be revealed at the awards luncheon. The program aims to honor the people and organizations advancing new products, services and processes from the regional economy.
The Sacramento Region Innovation Awards are presented by Stoel Rives LLP, Moss Adams LLP and the Sacramento Business Journal. Tickets and tables are available via the Sacramento Business Journal; early-bird pricing ends October 15.
