Sacramento Region Innovation Awards Announces Kitty O’Neal as 2018 Master of Ceremonies
We are pleased to announce that Kitty O’Neal of NewsRadio KFBK will serve as master of ceremonies for the third annual Sacramento Region Innovation Awards, scheduled for Thursday, November 1, 2018, at the Hilton Sacramento Arden West.
Kitty anchors the highly rated and award winning KFBK Afternoon News from 4 to 7 pm, a show she has hosted for more than 20 years. She has had many coveted news assignments including covering a Presidential inauguration, the Grammy Awards, and 25 Academy Award ceremonies. Kitty donates much of her time and talent to community events and charitable organizations and also serves on the boards of The California Museum, The Sacramento SPCA, and The Salvation Army, local chapter.
Twenty-one Innovation Awards finalists were named last month and winners across eight industry categories will be revealed at the awards luncheon. The program aims to honor the people and organizations advancing new products, services and processes from the regional economy.
A special “Innovation of the Year” award for Wide Open Walls — a Sacramento-based arts and mural festival founded by David Sobon in 2015 — will spotlight innovation beyond business and technology. Past recipients recognized for having a broad and profound impact on the greater Sacramento innovation community include Golden 1 Center and the University of California, Davis.
“We created the awards to celebrate our entrepreneurial economy in its entirety,” said Melissa Jones, program co-chair and managing partner of Stoel Rives’ California offices. “Wide Open Walls enhances our region’s growing reputation for being a diverse, innovative and creative place to live, work and play — it embodies the link between cultural values and economic markets.”
